![]() Mercury Retrograde: Do I Have To Go Back and Re-Open That Door? In this season’s Global Collective Color Wheel, we see our collective 3rd and 12th Houses reflecting exactly the energies that are now set in backward motion thanks to Mercury’s recent retrograde turn in super-watery, super-psychic Pisces. Mercury’s backward trek will also span part of Aquarius, so here’s what we can expect from this combination of planetary movement and astrological attitudes from now until March 21: Emotional (or attempted) Re-Connections, Heartfelt Apologies, Psychic Confusion, and Unexplained Electrical Weirdness. The emotional and psychic energies come from the Piscean influence, the electrical and unusual from the Aquarian. Note that Neptune, the planet of Illusion and Dreams, is also comfortably at home in its resident sign of Pisces which enhances psychic and dream energies to the Nth degree, making us feel like we stand right on the border between the seen and the unseen and rubbing our eyes to make sure what we see and hear is actually real. Even before Mercury retro began, I had heard quite a few Lightworkers recently say any one of the following: "I feel lost.” “I feel spacy.” “I am so ungrounded right now and I don’t know why.” “I can’t hear my Angels.” “I feel like I’m in a fog.” “I am confused.” And then retrograde kicked in. Did you feel the backward pull start on or shortly before Feb. 6th? Notice any glitches in communication or someone emerging from the fog of your past to attempt a mysterious and possibly unwanted re-connection with you? Very important to note, even if someone from the past does re-appear during retrograde, we always have the choice to say “No” to a reconnection if we know it will not be healthy for us or for them. We may also say “No” to an impulse we feel to attempt to re-connect with someone from our past that we feel a sudden or mysterious longing for, even though the source of longing may be undefinable. Rule of thumb or Retrogrades: You have the right to say “No,” or simply not respond at all to anyone or anything from your past that you do not wish to carry with you into the future. (NB: A retrograde in Pisces tends to trigger relapses into alcohol and other chemical addictions so be wary of these illusionary impulses and do not allow them to override your rational mind especially at night). So, what about this season’s Color Wheel? Here’s how we interpret the Steel Color Card appearing in the 3rd House of Communication, and Gray in the 12th House of Subconscious Influences. Steel in the 3rd House of Communication first and foremost gives us permission to Be Resilient in all our communications and to Reinforce communication structures that are already in place. If you said “No” to something or someone last month and they come back around hoping for a “Yes,” during a Mercury retrograde it’s best to reinforce the original decision and stand behind your original reasons for making that decision. Steel is all about Reinforcement, Standing Firm, and Holding Your Ground while at the same time being flexible to hear out the emotions and opinions of others. Some may view you as emotionally cold (like Steel!) or closed off, but seen from the right perspective you are simply holding your ground and not giving them what they think they want. Boundary-pushers and otherwise energetically invasive folks will come out of the woodwork to play on your emotions whether it’s to try to con you into buying something you don’t need, or to put their cause above your own. This is another good reason to bolster your communication boundaries prior to going out in public or picking up your phone to answer an unknown call. Beware also of buying communication-related gadgets on impulse; while under the psychic fog of Pisces and electrically unpredictable energy of Aquarius, we really should assess whether or not we need that tablet upgrade when we know the next model we’ll really want will be out in 6 months. From now until March 21, the catchphrase for all communications is “Reinforce the Structure Already in Place.” If you said “No” once, say it again, and hold off on changing or upgrading communication-related electronics. This is the essence of the Steel Color Card appearing in the 3rd House during a potent retrograde cycle. Gray in the 12th House of The Subconscious refers directly to these murky Piscean energies we are currently under with chatty Mercury moving backwards through this giant sign while Neptune comfortably lolly-gags in its home territory, happily making strange dreams even stranger and prompting everyone to search for deeper meaning when there really isn’t anything that goes far beyond the surface of what is actually happening. Over the last 2 weeks I have never seen so many people post comments on Facebook asking the same question: “What does it mean?” Existence sometimes has no meaning, and meaning sometimes has no existence. Get it? Ah, the foggy clouds of the Piscean 12th House. As if it wasn’t foggy enough, the Gray Color Card appearing in this house represents… a super-fog that will shroud meaning and intuitive insight for the next 7 weeks until Mercury is out of its own retrograde shadow and back in the clear. Unconscious, Subconscious, Psychic, and Unseen Karmic Influences are lurking just beneath the surface of anything and everything, not entirely clear until they emerge from the water and bite us on the nose. We are not helpless to a Psychic Piscean Fog, however. Smart Lightworkers use this time to meditate in stillness and silence while listening and feeling their way through things rather than trying to find a logical, clear-cut Yellow Brick Road to an Oz that doesn’t exist at the moment. What is your foggy Oz of this retrograde cycle? A relationship that exists only in your imagination? An escapist mentality about financial debt or health issues that really must be faced head-on? How about fantasizing about a career change that may not be in your best interests and doesn’t match your skills set? When driving through fog, sometimes the best and safest thing to do is pull over and wait until the fog clears a bit. Steel in the 3rd House says Stick to the Original Plan, while Gray in the 12th House says Make Sure You Remember What the Original Plan Was. Enjoy Mercury Retrograde, and don’t worry too much about the weird dreams! Use your favorite Colors to help you stay motivated, grounded, and focused in the present moment. Ruby Red and Crystal Blue are highly effective for promoting focus when in a psychic fog. <3 MHCI http://www.colorreadings.com/color-wheel.html
